My Kind of Holiday Music

The radio waves are so full of Christmas songs, and as much as I enjoy them, I find that it gets a little overwhelming at times.  Maybe I’d like it even more if they actually played Christmas music through other months so that I don’t have to hear the same songs over and over again.

I took a moment to think about what kind of music would make me look forward to the holidays and it came pretty quickly to me.  I’ve always called it “Beach Music” but really, it’s just Bob Marley and the Wailers.  I do not purport to know much (enough) of the legendary artist and could probably go on a complete tangent about who he is, what he represents and how he’s changed the world… but sometimes, it’s just about enjoying the music.  That’s what I’ll do this year – I’ll leave Bob Marley in the car and whenever I’ve had enough of the BandAid song, I’ll simply turn Trenchtown Rock back on.
