my crappy valentine’s post

I saw a commercial recently for a jewellery store, and I was impressed. It was a commercial geared towards guys, with a message for guys. Finally someone’s got it right. I don’t know why the jewellery marketers of the past thought they should advertise jewellery to women for those “special” occasions (aka, engagements). Forget the romantic imagery and junk – that’s what women like, but they aren’t the purchasers in this case. As a marketer, never ever make the mistake of who’s the one you need to convince. In this case, it’s not the women.

But I digress completely. 🙂

I suck at valentine’s. I must dislike Valentine’s almost as much as Christmas because of the commercialism. I’m like the meanie who breaks all of cupid’s arrows just because. So, the fact that I’m even attempting to say anything nice about Valentine’s is a huge step for me. Don’t expect too much or you’ll be disappointed.

Although I may not be romantic, I can appreciate romance. So, for all those guys who loves a woman, listen to this wonderful song, and tell your woman how much you love her. Steal some lines and some thoughts if you need to for Pete’s sake. Go on. What ever are you waiting for?

  1. I don’t do Valentine’s but I did enjoy this

Hahahahaha. Oh gosh, that was funny. Thanks! 🙂 – Daisy

  2. For someone who is not the least bit romantic, you really managed to drag the king of love songs out there, and performed at Slane Castle in Ireland no less. Impressive. Are you sure you don’t have a secret romantic side that just needs a little coaxing out under right circumstances? 🙂

Daisy I wish you and the one you love much happiness today and everyday.

Oh and LOM, thanks for that, that’s a classic! 🙂

King of love songs eh? Well, it’s just good ol’ Bryan Adams.. and to me he’s still the young guy in the jeans and white shirt. And, YAY, Canadian. 🙂 – Daisy

  3. Haha … The Oatmeal has a cartoon titled “The worst thing about Valentine’s day” and err, it directly targets your rant. 🙂 Read on: http://theoatmeal.com/blog/valentines_day

Hahahaha.. OMG, that is pretty darn funny. Now I’m completely confused about what exactly it does mean to me. Hahahaha. – Daisy
